Marc's background

I am Marc Jones and I am the sole director of Marjon Law.

I founded Marjon Law in 2021.

I have been a specialist employment law solicitor for over 20 years.

I qualified as a barrister before transferring to become a solicitor.

Prior to doing a law degree, I was a design engineer.

I am a prompt, passionate, pragmatic, results-driven lawyer that strives to exceed my client's expectations.

Many clients come to me based on recommendations from previous clients.

I was previously a partner in four firms of solicitors and head of employment in three of them.

I have worked in Slough, Watford, Reading, St Albans, Hemel Hempstead, Uxbridge, Maidenhead, and London but I have acted for clients all over England and Wales.

I am ranked and recommended in legal publications as a leading employment lawyer.

I specialise in all areas of employment law, with extensive experience in dealing with settlement agreements, restrictive covenants, whistleblowing, discrimination, TUPE, director disputes, negotiating severance packages and employment tribunal claims. 

I advise and represent clients in employment/commercial-related disputes in the High Court and county courts, which has ranged from, amongst other things, boardroom disputes and breach of restrictive covenants.   

I provide advice on employment data protection issues and IR35.

I have extensive experience in advising on issues relating to neurodiversity in the workplace.

I act for both individuals (directors, employees, workers, partners and independent contractors) and businesses (multinational companies, public limited companies, small to medium-sized enterprises, public sector bodies and charities) which allows me to see both sides of a dispute. 

I have acted for clients in most industry sectors.

I have appeared as a solicitor/advocate in employment tribunals, the Employment Appeal Tribunal and the Court of Appeal. 

Some of the cases I have been involved with have been reported in legal publications and the media.

I am a qualified workplace mediator.

I am an Employment Law Appeal Advice Scheme (ELAAS) representative. 

I sit on the management committee of the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA).

I am the Editor of ELA Briefing.

I was the President of the Maidenhead and District Chamber of Commerce.

I was the Training Principal at a previous firm.

In my spare time, I play for Marlow hockey club and follow Aston Villa football club.
